Blog Entry #4: Me, myself, & others

I usually engage in a limited problem solving consumer decision-making when buying products. I do not usually spend a ton of time doing extensive research about products and services, as well as creating detailed criteria to choose from options.  When deciding to buy products, I first look for which stores I can purchase the product or products similar to it. I want to see the availability of it and how easy or hard it is to find and acquire one. It is also a way for me to see if this item is something I can purchase readily or without difficulty. Next, I research the product/service I would like to purchase. I usually just make an external and internal search towards what I buy because I trust the purchasing history of my peers and those around me. I rarely rely on accidental search to influence me to buy a product, and when needed, I make a deliberate search. After making searches, I then look at the pros and cons of the alternatives and evaluate from there. I make non-com...

Blog Entry #3: I am guilty of...

As consumers, we all try to get the best out of the purchases we invest in. Afterall, we all want to get our money’s worth, and probably more. We are all guilty of cheating our way and doing something unethical just to be able to have something we want, especially when it comes with an alternative cheaper price for almost the same quality, or maybe better when it comes for free. With this, I wouldn’t deny that I participate in such acts as well. As a student with no source of income, I would say that I rely on a lot of cheap priced goods or access to free stuff. My financial instability has become a reason for me to look for ways to avail of services and goods that are affordable or free yet offer the same quality that I look for. With this, I sometimes resort to buying dupes that promise the same experience for a cheaper price. An example of this is purchasing a computer game from a third party app for less than 100 pesos when the original price of the game would be over 10,000 ...

Blog Entry #2: Ad Analysis

Information and Factual Content The chosen advertisement is a one minute and 30 second Nescafe ad titled, “Babangon Tayo with Nescafe”. It was released 3 years ago on March 1, 2020 and promotes the product which is coffee grounds. Given this information, the viewers would expect an advertisement that promotes the flavor, texture, aroma, and affordability of the product. Knowing Nescafe’s image and how well known it is as a credible brand that has been manufacturing and producing coffee grounds, we would expect an advertisement that would reach a wide audience because everyone drinks coffee. The advertisement was able to give quantifiable information on the background of how the coffee grounds are produced from the farm. It leaned more towards the perspective of the people who worked behind the scenes and how much hard work, passion, and camaraderie these people put behind creating the coffee grounds for buyers of the Nescafe brand. The advertisement also focused on the relati...

This purchase has been made through an online transaction on the online shopping platform, Shopee, by the seller account nmat_reviewer. The mode of payment in which this item has been purchased was through cash on delivery. Upon receiving the item, the product was missing a few pages on different sections of the reviewer. This is clearly seen as the page numbers are skipped and the missing pages are nowhere to be found within the reviewer. In order to fix the issue, I would like to send back the item and exchange it for a complete copy of the product. It would be best if there would be no h...
